ABOUT

Helping Hands Uganda is a Community Based, Non-Profit organization located in Kolir, Eastern Uganda. It was founded with the aim of helping the elders and marginalized peoples in Kolir sub-county.

Our vision is to see each of our beneficiaries' lives improve in health, dignity and confidence. We aim to help restore their rightful positions as inspirational and positive role models and leaders in their communities.

We feel that it is important to keep these elders within their communities, and that one's home community is the best place for an elder to transmit their knowledge and expertise to the next generation. That is why instead of removing the elders from their home villages, we keep them within their communities and provide outreach services directly to them. This not only keeps them around people and the place which is familiar to them, but also instills in the community a sense of responsibility and care for the vulnerable within their population, making our program a holistic approach to elder care.
