Green Hands: Gardening for the Future

We feel that knowldege of sustainable agricultural practices can improve food security. Therefore, we aim to train our beneficiaries in traditional and revolutionary new horticulture practices. We train not only the elders, but also the children of each family in improved farming methods.

Helping Hands is stressing the creation of sack gardens which can thrive off of a limited amount of surface space and water. These sack gardens are very easy to care for, and can be kept within the house compound.

We also encourage our families to save the seeds of all fruits and make small nurseries so that they can plant orchards along the edges of their gardens.
